E-commerce for hockey fans has been in the works for some time, but that hasn’t made it into the NHL’s official platform yet.
That’s because the league and its member clubs are not on the same page yet.
With a partnership with the NHL and ecommerce platform Shopify, the league is working to bring its product to fans in the United States, but not necessarily the rest of the world.
The first step will be to set up a partnership between the league, its teams and e-commerce platform, according to NHL.com.
This is a great step forward in our long-term mission to grow our e-Commerce business and provide our fans the highest level of access to the game.
It will enable us to continue to offer a wide range of hockey-related merchandise to fans across North America and around the world through Shopify.
