“Game of thrones” star Sophie Turner says she’s excited to be part of a “Star Wars”-themed production.
She’s joined by actors Gwendoline Christie and Emilia Clarke, as well as “Rogue One” director Gareth Edwards and “The Force Awakens” director J.J. Abrams.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this,” Turner said in an interview with EW.
“It’s going to be fun.”
In her introduction to the series, the actress said she’s already known that “StarWars” fans will be familiar with her, which is why she’s hoping she’s able to work with them.
“This is a Star Wars universe, and I’ve been an avid fan of this franchise for a long time,” she said.
“You know, I watch a lot of ‘StarWars’ episodes, and it’s been one of my favorite series ever.”
She added that she hopes fans of “Star” will be able to find the same excitement for the “Game” series.
“For those of us who grew up on the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, it’s such a great story that we can relate to,” Turner added.
“And this is a story about growing up and making a difference and growing up.
It’s a story that’s very personal, and very connected to us.
I think the ‘War’ universe, the ‘Hercules’ universe — I’ve always felt like I was part of those universes, so it’s a big thrill to be playing ‘Game’ with these other actors, and so I’m excited to see what’s going on.”
The “Game Of Thrones” actress also shared that she’s thrilled that she’ll be part the production.
“There’s a great sense of community that comes from being in the same room as everyone and being able to do a lot together,” Turner continued.
“We all have so much fun together, and we all have these different styles and we get to make it all work together.
And it’s going in a really good direction.”
In addition to being in a Star Trek-themed production, Turner said she’ll also be playing an “Old West” character.
“Star wars” actor Idris Elba recently announced he’ll be playing a character called “Captain Thrawn,” and “Rogue one” actor John Boyega has also recently revealed he’ll play an Imperial officer.
“The ‘Star wars’ universe is so big, and everyone has so much to offer,” Turner explained.
“So we want to give people something to do with their passion, and to really be inspired by it.”
